Parker West Nears Completion At 214 West 72nd Street On Manhattan’s Upper West Side
(As previously published in YIMBY) Construction is nearing completion on Parker West, a 22-story residential building at 214 West 72nd Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by GreenbergFarrow and developed by CBSK Ironstate, a collaboration of SK Development, CB Developers and Brooklyn Standard Properties, and CM & Associates was the construction management company involved.
The 219-foot-tall structure will yield 18 full-floor homes designed by GRADE in two- to three-bedroom layouts with sales and marketing led by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. The project is located between West End Avenue and the confluence of Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue.
Recent photos show exterior work wrapping up on the top section of the building with black netting and scaffolding covering up a small remaining portion of the main northern elevation. The façade consists of limestone, bronze, and terrazzo surrounding large windows on the northern half of the edifice. The western profile features vertical strips of square windows and lightly scored stone panels covering the reinforced concrete floor slabs and perimeter walls.
On-site amenities for residents include an outdoor rooftop terrace with barbecues and views of the Hudson River to the west and the Midtown skyline to the south, a fitness center, and a children’s playscape. Current availability as of early March ranges from a 752-square-foot one-bedroom/one-bathroom third-story unit for $1.325 million, to a 1,477-square-foot three-bedroom/three-bathroom 11th-story home for $3.05 million. Conveniently adjacent to the property is a Trader Joe’s, while Central Park is only two avenues to the east.
Full completion of Parker West should likely occur in the coming weeks, perhaps within mid- to late spring. (photos by Michael Young)
